Family Statement and Healthcare Concerns

Bennett's father, Richard Bennett, publicly addressed his daughter’s passing and expressed significant concerns regarding the medical care she received in the months prior to her death. Richard Bennett stated that his daughter had experienced a severe reaction to a prescribed medication. He noted that while the family supported her during that time, he felt the healthcare system did not provide adequate treatment.

"We have no suspicions regarding the circumstances of her death, only deep disappointment that, for five months, medical professionals and NHS services failed to treat her appropriately during her time of greatest need."

Reflecting on her life, Richard Bennett remembered his daughter as a talented artist and a cherished individual. He added, Her legacy lives on through her daughter, her family, and through the music she leaves behind.

Musical Career and Legacy

Born on June 24, 1989, Bennett’s career spanned nearly two decades. She first gained attention in 2006 by competing on the U.K. Version of The X Factor, where she reached the final 12 contestants. Following her time on the show, she was recruited for the girl group Paradiso Girls, a project created by choreographer Robin Antin that remained active from 2007 until 2010. During this period, the group found moderate success with their debut single, "Patron Tequila."

Bennett reached a new level of global fame in 2011 as a featured vocalist on LMFAO’s "Party Rock Anthem." The song became a significant cultural milestone, later cited by Billboard as one of the most successful songs of all time. In 2013, she joined the girl group G.R.L., alongside members Simone Battle, Emmalyn Estrada, Natasha Slayton, and Paula Van Oppen. The group's momentum was severely impacted in 2014 by the suicide of bandmate Simone Battle. Bennett later described the profound impact of that loss, which she explored in her 2016 solo single, "Hurricane."

Following the news of her passing, members of G.R.L. Released a joint statement mourning their former colleague:

"Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us. We will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us."

A private memorial service for Bennett was held in London approximately one week prior to the public announcement, attended by family, friends, and several former bandmates. Aria Crescendo, who performed with Bennett in Paradiso Girls, stated on social media that she had spoken with Bennett just one week before her death. Outside of her group work, Bennett continued to collaborate on various musical projects, including the duo BENNETT, which she formed with her brother, Ryan, in 2017.
