Over 4,000 people have been confirmed dead following back-to-back earthquakes in Venezuela, triggering an urgent $300 million humanitarian appeal.

Following twin earthquakes in north-central Venezuela, the official death toll has reached 3,342 with over 16,000 injured and thousands displaced.

Emergency crews are working in northern Venezuela as the death toll reaches 920 following a doublet of earthquakes. International aid teams have arrived to assist after officials declared a state of emergency.
