Máximo has declined a proposal from the Argentine Football Association (AFA) to host the funeral of the Indio, instead coordinating with Kicillof to hold the services in Avellaneda, according to local media reports.
A Dispute Over the Funeral Venue
The arrangements for the farewell of the Indio became a point of contention when the AFA sought to oversee the funeral proceedings. However, Máximo rejected the offer to cede the event to the sports organization, opting instead to keep the arrangements outside of the AFA’s control.

Coordination with Kicillof and Move to Avellaneda
Following the rejection of the AFA’s proposal, an agreement was reached with Kicillof to relocate the services. The funeral will now take place in Avellaneda, marking a shift in the planned logistics for the cultural figure’s final send-off.
