Jakarta police have announced they will be questioning JKT48 member Freya Jayawardana regarding a report she filed concerning digitally altered images created using artificial intelligence. The images, circulated online, were deemed inappropriate by the performer, prompting a formal complaint and an upcoming police interview.

Raden Rara Freyanasifa Jayawardana, known professionally as Freya JKT48, reported the manipulated images to the Jakarta Selatan Police. According to authorities, the images were created and shared by accounts identified as @grock and @swap, utilizing AI technology to depict the performer in compromising situations, including appearing to wear revealing clothing.

What Sparked the Report?

The investigation was initiated after Freya discovered the altered images on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). Police spokesperson AKBP Murodih stated that Freya felt uncomfortable with the content and reported the incident, leading to the opening of a case under the number LP/B/519/II/2026/SPKT/POLRES METRO JAKSEL/POLDA METRO JAYA. The alleged offense is categorized as data manipulation through electronic media.

Who Will Be Questioned?

Freya is scheduled to provide a statement to police on Thursday, March 12, 2026. In addition to the performer, authorities plan to interview three other individuals: Rino Sutopo, Vania Eka Putri, and Syari Nabila, as part of the ongoing investigation. The timeframe of the alleged incidents spans from 2022 to 2025.
