Queens of the Stone Age have returned with “Easy Street,” their first original studio recording since the 2023 release of In Times New Roman. The track, available via Matador Records, features a guest vocal performance from American country artist Nikki Lane. According to Icon Vs. Icon, the collaboration pairs Lane’s gritty, gravel-and-honey vocals against Josh Homme’s smoother lead.

Produced by Josh Homme and bassist Michael Shuman, the song moves away from the polished production often found in modern rock. Homme described the recording process as an intentional embrace of human error, noting the absence of a click track and the decision to keep natural timing fluctuations and imperfect handclaps in the final mix.
