Jared Leto Faces Sexual Misconduct Allegations From Multiple Women

Oscar-winning actor and musician Jared Leto faces sexual misconduct allegations from multiple women in a new investigative television special.

The disclosures were brought to light in a documentary titled Jared Leto: Hollywood's Dark Secret, which premiered Wednesday on BBC One, BBC Three, and BBC iPlayer. According to ABP Live, the project features accounts from 10 participants, with nine speaking publicly about their experiences for the first time. The reported incidents span from 2002 to 2016, a timeframe when the Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman — now 54 — was in his 30s and 40s.

Four women accuse the performer of criminal sexual conduct occurring while they were minors or teenagers. As reported by Mashable, one participant identified as Taylor stated she was 14 years old when she encountered Leto at a music festival in 2005. She alleges Leto made a lewd comment about her chest while signing her T-shirt and instructed a bodyguard to bring her backstage without asking if she wanted to go. According to Taylor, Leto repeated the remark when her mother confronted him.

Another woman, identified as Isabel, alleged she was raped inside a motel bathroom in Las Vegas in 2002 after Leto invited her there from the store where she worked. A third woman, using the name Clara, alleged she had sex with Leto at his California home when she was 17. According to the BBC, she stated Leto, who was 34 at the time, dismissed concerns after they discussed California's age of consent being 18. She alleged he told her, I would like you to call me daddy, and stated it was either pretend to be a little girl or 'my little girl'.

A further account involves a former model who was 19 in 2013. She claimed she told Leto she was 17 to protect herself, to which he allegedly replied, Age is just a number, and, anyway, we're in Europe. The woman alleges she was invited to a hotel room in London after a concert under the pretense of a party, only to find Leto alone. She claims Leto dismissed her requests for cash or a phone charger to get home and repeatedly told her she would wake up with a d--- in her ass.

Additional allegations involve unwanted communications and grooming behaviors. A fourth woman alleged Leto began grooming her when she was 16, making repeated sexually explicit phone calls and suggesting they have sex. According to the BBC, this woman was later presented with a nondisclosure agreement to prevent her from discussing the relationship; the BBC stated it had reviewed the document, which the woman declined to sign. Four other women described receiving strange phone calls with sexual undertones from Leto while they were young.

The documentary also features interviews with two former employees of Thirty Seconds to Mars. They claimed staff members felt uncomfortable observing Leto's interactions with teenage girls. One employee alleged Leto would invite teenage girls backstage to his dressing room or to a house where the band was recording, stating, I think everyone thought the age gap was way too big.

These revelations build upon prior public accusations. Last year, Los Angeles DJ Allie Teilz publicly alleged she was assaulted by the actor when she was 17, sharing a screenshot of a Facebook post. That disclosure prompted an Air Mail report published in June 2025 detailing accusations from nine women. These included claims that Leto exposed himself to a 17-year-old, asked sexually explicit questions to a 16-year-old, and placed an 18-year-old's hand on him.

One model mentioned in the Air Mail report, Laura La Rue, claimed Leto asked for her phone number at a 2008 California benefit after she told him she was 16. Representatives for Leto told Air Mail that communications contained nothing sexual or inappropriate and claimed La Rue had applied to be his personal assistant, a claim La Rue denies.

In response to the current documentary, the actor issued a direct denial to Fox News Digital.

The BBC stated that Leto did not respond to repeated requests for comment prior to the program's release. Similarly, The Hollywood Reporter and Variety reported that representatives for the performer did not reply to inquiries at the time of publication. During the Air Mail reporting, representatives expressly denied the allegations and called Teilz's claims demonstrably false.

The controversy occurs as Leto remains professionally active. He recently appeared in Masters of the Universe and continues to lead Thirty Seconds to Mars. The band is scheduled to tour the UK and Europe next spring, with planned dates at Manchester's Co-op Live and London's O2. Legal authorities have not filed criminal charges regarding the allegations presented in the documentary.
