Jorge Nieto, representing the Partido del Buen Gobierno, has announced that his party will spoil their ballots in the upcoming second round of elections, signaling a complete rejection of the current political alternatives.
A Protest on the Ballot
Rather than endorsing a specific candidate for the runoff, Nieto is encouraging supporters to express their dissatisfaction directly on the voting slip. He revealed that his own ballot will feature a specific written protest.

Nieto stated that this decision stems from the party’s inability to align with the available choices in the second round, leading to his public invitation for others to similarly spoil their votes.
Defining the Future Opposition
Despite the party’s refusal to support either finalist, Nieto emphasized that the Partido del Buen Gobierno will not obstruct the democratic process. He clarified that the party intends to accept the eventual outcome of the election.
