Traffic flow has returned to one of Monterrey’s most prominent landmarks following the conclusion of a nearly seven-week construction project.
Local media reports confirm that lanes under the Arco de la Independencia have officially reopened, ending a 48-day period of closures and roadworks that impacted commuters in the city.
Resolving the Transit Dispute
The reopening specifically enables two lanes of traffic at the intersection of Avenida Pino Suárez and Madero. The project had become a point of local contention, with reports highlighting a period of controversy surrounding the duration and impact of the works.
With the lanes now fully operational, the disruption to the area’s transit patterns has come to an end.
